Its always a pleasure to stop off at Gibson mill for a coffee and maybe a slice of cake. Its like a welcome treat. The staff are great, especially under the covid restrictions, they have sorted the Caffè in such a way that you feel safe as a customer and the staff are safe too. The surroundings are wonderful, fantastic countryside and oldie worldie buildings to match, what more could you want. Its a great place to get away from the madness outside and get in touch with nature. Just make sure you don't bring the madness with you..

Only the cafe was open due to the Covid 19 but the food was OK. Not many places to sit outside so we had an uncomfortable perch on a window sill. The area around the building is nice, especially the mill ponds and the walk to the mill

We stumbled upon this little gem whilst in hard Castle craggs and we stopped for drinks and ice cream. It was encouraging to see everyone wearing masks and using hand sanitizer so ensure they are covid-19 responsible. The ice cream was definitely a hit and it perked the kids up before we carried on with our day out! Let's be honest here, kids + ice cream = happy kids and it really did break the walk up and help keep the kids happy. Its a picturesque little spot and it was nice to have a 20 minute break here.

We were quite uncertain how good the exhibition would be. (Grimes fairy tales) they were fascinating with great models and much to learn about these frightening tales. So we loved it and will go to the mill, whatever the exhibition when we are near. Coffee was great too!

Great little cafe in the middle of the Craggs, with a lovely old fire in the centre of the cafe keeping the whole place warm and cosy. Very worth nipping in any time of the year.
