Immensely disappointing
Sep. 2021
Visited this garden many times over 20 years and loved it, so took a friend for a Birthday treat in September. We heard the Pollard family had sold it but we were extremely disappointed with what we found. Paths down to riverside poorly maintained, few herbaceous plants of note and renowned collection of roses unpruned and unloved. Advertised café not open but no signs explaining why. After such a disappointing experience even more annoyed that we had been charged full entry price. Quite unbelievable. Would not recommend to anyone.

What a peaceful place for a walk
Sep. 2021
From a tortoise, very tall sunflowers, low hedges with apples growing and large squashes there are numerous things to interest anyone here. The koi and sturgeon in the fish tanks at the entrance are a real magnet (near the loos conveniently if you are in a large party). The woodland walk is surprising - very much worth a visit.

Dog Friendly
Aug. 2021
We went here on Sunday just for a little trip away from the norm, we were very happy to see that our dogs were aloud to come along too

The garden's are beautiful very well kept and managed
which would be really hard work as there is a lot of hedges beds shrubs and trees to look after there, then there are also the ponds to keep looking fab

We thought the place was amazing and we are sure to return there again some day

Opens at 11 am and is most worth a visit, lovely topiary, ponds, lawns and paths under roses and apple trees

A little disappointing - could be so much better.
Aug. 2021
Some areas of the gardens were well-maintained, others in need of attention. Very few blooms considering we visited in mid August. Rose bushes need some TLC. Overall a relaxing feel to the gardens, a good variety of plants, shrubs and trees, however the visitor experience could be improved with some weeding, deadheading and more planting in some of the borders would ensure good value for the ticket price. Not able to use the cafe as there were preparations for a wedding.

A bit disappointing
Aug. 2021
Well laid out and overall nice gardens but I think our visit was at the wrong time of the year as many blooms were over. Not worth the £8 admission price. Koi carp in the ponds were great.

Disappointing
Aug. 2021
Deeply disappointing visit, run down, neglected, hardly any blooms. Cafe excellent, friendly staff. Visited some years previously - when run by naked gardener. No comparison.
