We often frequent the Irwell Works Brewery, very friendly staff & customers, beers are brewed on site, all very different, meaning you will have to try them all. Dogs are very welcome, water bowls & treats are also freely available, they only charge for the beer. You can also enjoy a bite to eat, tends to be traditional fare, but... More

We were staying at Burrs Country Park Caravan Club site in our motorhome and after a lovely steam train journey from the new stop at the site, we decided to visit Irwell Works Brewery. My husband recommended it having visited before and I must say it was both interesting and the bar most comfortable when we called. It had an... More

Loved by locals , the Brewery is busy and bustling at the weekend. Great place to meet friends before enjoying food in Ramsbottom. It's not posh but it is local

Fab brewery, great friendly atmosphere and very welcoming for our first time in here. Reasonable prices, a lot of different ales available as well as your general ciders/beers. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good ale and a good chat.

We called in today for a drink and some food. The ale as always is really superb a great range of ales to suit everyone's taste, plus wines etc. The food has really stepped up recently the beef and real ale pie is a particular special dish that we first tried today, beautiful lean meat fabulous gravy and a pastry... Called in for a pint on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. The beer was good and there was a lot to choose from. If you are visiting Ramsbottom and like traditional beer, this place is a must visit. The beer is brewed downstairs and there is a balcony to sit on when the weather is fine. A... More

I called in for what I was hoping to be a pleasant pint or two of satisfying traditional beer. How disappointing the experience in reality. I was hoping for a pint of Tin Plate and Iron Plate yet neither seemed to be brewed anymore. I chose a Copper Plate as I had voted for this beer at the Bury beer... More

Hi Gary. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were disappointed. At the time of your visit there would have been 8 of our 10 regular ales available, as we only have 8 pumps and rotate the beers according to their availability. This is constantly changing due to the simple consequences of supply and demand. Iron Plate... More

If you love beer then visit here. Its a typicaly friendly northern pub (With its own brewery) Great staff and a good view from the balcony, its just different. My second visit and I would recommend it.

Part of our Rail and Ale day with the East Lancs Railway a home run brewery selling its beer to the real ale lovers. Based in Ramsbottom with a fantastic view over the neighbouring countryside well worth a visit if you are in the area. More choice of real Ale than you can handle with a really good neighbourly atmosphere... More
