The newly refurbished house is beautifully done with interactive guides and information. The staff here go "above and beyond" and were extremely helpful when we visited with our elderly mothers for Afternoon Tea in the Orangery (an absolute pleasure and a great pianist providing entertainment). Always plenty to do and always something new on offer. A beautiful house in lovely... More

Sewerby Hall gardens are beautiful and well maintained. A pleasant walk around for anyone. Lots of trees, flower beds and a walled garden area to see and plenty of grassed areas as well. A very nice mini zoo with various animals, Penguins and birds. Toilet facilities are well kept and clean. The Hall its self is a very nice ,... More

It's been a few months since our visit but the wonderful memories of that day we visited Sewerby Hall lingers. A friend from York took us to visit Sewerby with the proviso that this wasn't a castle and not as fancy as some homes. Well, we loved it. I love history and was excited to learn that Amy Johnson flew... More

I feel bad this review has come so late! But need to totally appraise staff at Sewerby! I often visit the Gardens and it's just a wonderful day out. I was last at the halloween pumpkin carving! Staff at that event were wonderful and loved children, giving every child plenty of time. The gardens are immaculate, great park for the... More

We went with 2 autistic children and they and us thoroughly enjoyed the house. Wrong time of the year to see everything in the zoo but again enjoyed our day out there. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We took the "Land Train" from Bridlington North Promenade to Sewerby Hall, and enjoyed the experience of walking freely around this house (bought by the Council in the 1930s for about £34,000, and still Council administered). There is a small zoo, a cafe, and beautiful walks around the grounds.

Charming local museum with a childrens' zoo in the grounds. Amy Johnson - local hero - is celebrated and the gardens face the sea.

This was my first visit since 1977 but will defo be back soon. The whole family had a great time as there was something for us all to do. We really enjoyed the gardens and the games. Then the house was brill and the children's play area was great. Only criticism was that the cafe and shop could be better... More

A lovely house renovated and re-opened a couple of years ago. A delight for those who like watching Downton on TV or for those with an interest in aviation. Outside is a small zoo and it is this not the house and gardens that disturbed me a little since there only seemed to be one member of staff to care... More
