The scenic Looe Valley Line links the bustling market town of Liskeard with the picturesque fishing port of Looe. The train journey is full of beautiful views out of the train window, as the wooded valley teaming with wildlife opens up to glorious estuary views as the river meets the sea. Looe itself is a much-loved seaside destination that’s full of character. It prides itself on its safe beaches for swimming and sunbathing, restaurants that specialise in fresh local ingredients, and a maze of narrow streets full of small independent shops to discover.

We flagged down the little train and travelled into Liskeard. There are two museums and a fantastic cafe called the green frog. Don't go on a Sunday though as we found out there is nothing open!

Did the 30 minute journey as I'd heard about it via Tripadvisor. Glad we did. We timed our journey to Liskeard as near to high tide as possible as advised and we loved it. There are parts where you really feel like you're driving through...More

Great train trip to avoid parking at Looe, but don't bother with Looe if you don't have to, over commercialised, too much traffic jumping lights and causing chaos in the narrow streets.

A lovely little 2 carriage railway from Liskeard to Looe. Sadly a diesel train not steam but still feels like a trip back in time. A fairly picturesque landscape passes by in the approx 30 mins into Looe which is then followed by a short...More
