I suppose we went to the Lake at the wrong time because it was raining and quite stormy. The lake is simply beautiful and there seems to be a campsite there which looked cool but empty. Although we din't tour the facilty itself, we walked around the lake and took in the picturesque scenery surrounding the lake. We were later... More

We had a lovely walk around the lake, watched the fly fisherman ended our visit with a coffee at the little lakeside cafe

Scenic spot to relax, or why not try out the water sports on offer. Took the dog for a stroll round the lake & fancied a drink whilst the kids enjoyed the play area - was wondering how to achieve this with ultra clingy dog in tow & was literally invited in by staff with doggie biscuits to boot! Fab!... More

We drove to the lake where there were a lot of campers. However it was peaceful and the lake was blue and beautiful. The sun was shining and it was a glorious morning. There is a lot of long walking around the lake. There are seats around for enjoying the view. There were groups of people getting into canoes and... More

Came here to camp for 3 nights with my young children. Came as part of a group with children ranging from 9 - 16 years old. Campsite is basic but well kept. Decent toilet and shower facilities. Staff in the reception and cafe were really helpful and pleasant. Great little park for the kids and nice to be able to... More

I've been running round this lake for the past 3 weeks and realised I have yet to review it! It is high time they put toilets in the car park at the dam end - most of the people I encounter while out running aren't going to the watersports centre but just a there & back along one side. They... More

Could of been better sign posted , easy to take the wrong path but beautiful walk over the dam & around the lake . Takes a couple of hours & wish their was less restrictions on camping & lighting little bonfires around there but all in all a beautiful old walk. X if you see the balancing stones , try... More

Being a local I sometimes forget this beautiful location is not far from my door step! Took my three year old son last weekend on a beautiful sunny evening. Great park with pirate ship for toddlers. The cafe is wonderful with friendly staff and the walk around the lake is amazing. I was in need of some tranquility and while... More

We live nearby and often walk around part of the lake, or sit quietly in the bird hide. We've seen deer, heron, various ducks, egret and smaller birds. The cafe does good cake and the water sports seem well organised although I've yet to participate...watching the endeavours of paddle board beginners or skilled windsurfers is a great spectator sport! The... More

We visited the lake several times as we were staying close by. We biked around the lake and called in for coffee to the Lake cafe. We enjoyed the days there, the fact that it was gorgeous weather helped!
