Mount Edgcumbe House is set in a glorious Country Park, with wonderful views across to Plymouth and out along the coast. It is extremely good value as the park access is free and there are acres of grass, woodland walks, flower gardens and a small beach area. There are some quirky seats and follies, and trails to follow, and several... More

Spent a great day walking a round the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe. The setting of plymouth sound and surrounding countryside are wonderful.

We just had afternoon tea in the Orangery after a trip to Plymouth on the little ferry boat. Enormous slabs of cake and good quality tea, served by friendly and efficient staff. Not expensive. Lovely views from this gracious, high-ceilinged venue, followed by a walk around fabulous spring gardens which are free of charge. I'd call it a cheap afternoon... More

We walked from the Cremyll ferry around to Kingsand it is a long walk of approximately 4 miles each way, but the scenery breathtaking as you walk though the park. Banks of daffodils and beautiful camelias, walk along by the duck pond and up though the woods. Beautiful views of Plymouth sound and Drake's island. If you have time on... More

Lovely area for walking close to the river, free entry to the gardens. Consider visiting Barrow area where there are interesting places to visit and a small, tea room/coffee shop. Food also available in the Orangery restaurant overlooking the Italian garden. The house is worth a visit, but a fee has to be paid for this.

wonderful grounds with lovely views over the Tamar. A steep walk up the Camelia path to deer park gives more panoramic views. The house is steeped in culture and history.

We had an hour to kill before Sunday lunch and happened on Mount Edgcumbe house by accident. The grounds are lovely and the views fantastic. There seems to be lots of things to do and see here and we will be back to explore.

I booked the two-part Learn to Crochet Workshop in the stableyard at Mount Edgcumbe on Saturday mornings 14 and 21 January 2017. The booking procedure was straightforward, and the bookings lady was very helpful. Signage to find the venue was good, and tea and coffee were offered (there's also a lovely cafe in the stableyard if you prefer to take... More

Good day out for couples or family & dog friendly too. Free to wander around the extensive gardens & access to a beach as well. The Orangery restaurant & cafe happily accepted our two dogs. Lovely coffee & carrot cake.

If you stand on Plymouth Hoe and look past Drake's Island, you'll see Mount Edgecombe. Take the foot passenger ferry from Admirals Hard in Stonehouse. This takes you across the mouth of the Tamar, great views of the Sound and up river. It drops you at the entrance to the Park with wonderful gardens, cafe and the house on the... More
