Great Beach opposite Nelsons Bay

Family friendly Jimmy's Beach, good fishing too. Very pretty view looking onto Port Stephens. Fine white sand beach

The beach was very clean. The best thing for us was the off leash dog areas either side of the main patrolled beach. Not a lot of shade but absolutely beautiful water and sand.

Nice and quite, not many people. Little parking place though, and we didn't find a toilet. But we did see dolphins swimming close to beach which is really nice.

Lovely beach you are able to swim in this one no real big waves so no suffers here. Beach is not manned though.

We stayed at Jimmy's Beach caravan park for the first time over the Summer of 16/17. The local beach is a great spot for young swimmers with a sand park at the main carpark/entry point. Would recommend for young families and not so strong swimmers. Minimal waves and really clear waters.

Find a covered seating area, watch the boats and the Nelson Bay Ferry, eat the best ever fish n chips. What a lovely place our in-law family have retired to. Make it a 'must do' on your travels folks.

Amazing Sunset location, romantic scenery! I was lucky to see rainbow on the day. If travel by car to go further, there's less people and can take very beautiful photos.

A really beautiful beach, calm waters, clean white sand. Best bit was really not that crowded at all. For what I imagine would've been a busy time we felt there was hardly anyone around. Also spotted dolphins swimming by quite a few times.

The beach sand is fine and clean and even on a busy day during the school holidays, it was peaceful and relaxing. The waters looked beautiful but be aware the deep channel is not far from shore so keep a firm eye on the kids. Not as many amenities like showers on this beach compared to Nelson Bay beaches but... We went up to Hawks Nest for a couple of days between Christmas and New Years. Jimmy's Beach is a sheltered Beach about 20 minutes walk (5 minute drive) from Hawks Nest/Bennetts Beach. We have two small children who are in the early stages of learning to swim. Bennetts Beach at Hawks Nest is beautiful, but not quite what we... More
