We weren't interested in the golf course but we wanted somewhere quiet to stay for one night in the area. In fact we booked for a second night as we enjoyed our stay.
The fixed spacious cabins are well appointed with air conditioning, kitchen facilities, comfy bed, TV, outside decking and BBQ facilities.
There were plenty of wild kangaroos bouncing around the grounds at most times and we also saw a wombat on one of the holes.
There is a swimming pool and a giant outdoor chess board and a tennis court.
Restaurant facilities are only at the weekend and Reception is closed after 5 pm so make sure you have everything you need before settling down for the evening. Kangaroo Valley village only really has one place to eat for the first few days of the week so make sure you take some provisions with you.
Lovely spot for a retreat.

Was surprised by how good the superior villa accommodation was #54
Looked brand new. Smart TVs in living room & both bedrooms. Lounges & beds very comfortable. Nice ensuites & a 3rd toilet separate. Nespresso coffee machine with pods provided.
Front deck facing one of the greens. Bedrooms back onto the 18th fairway. 3 minute walk to the Italian restaurant.
Are there both nights. The porchetta was the best Ive ever tasted. The angus beef tenderloin was also superbly cooked (med rare) as recommended by host George. His wine recommendation was also spot on. Friendly staff.
Course was in good nick. Naturally you see kangaroos in morning & late afternoon.
Just down the road from a great cafe/deli where breakfast was fantastic.
Well worth a trip. Be careful of wombats on the roads at night.

The course definitely has the potential but lacks maintenance. The greens were running very slow. Still had an enjoyable time and the speed of play was good.

Hi Devraj1974,
I'm so sorry that your play was just average, this was certainly a surprise to read.
So many of our reviews at the front desk or online are very positive.
Mind you, I've taken your comments on board and will be liaising with our greens superintendent.
Thank you.

Have played this course many times in the past and invited friends to join us to play a couple of rounds. We were very disappointed to find the greens in very poor condition. On the days we were there we had the course to ourselves. The bunkers were unplayable. We all loved the views and set up ,pity about the condition of the course!!

Thank you for your feedback on our course, we do appreciate and welcome all comments.
Of course we are disappointed to hear that your experience was not entirely positive. We do recognise that our greens are not at their best at present and are working very hard to get them back into the shape that you and we have become accustomed. We have always taken great pride in our greens but unfortunately, we had some problems with moss and disease earlier this year and the remedial treatment for this has been both extensive and lengthy. We have recently cored, fertilised, top dressed, patched and scarified the greens. The initial results from this work has been very promising but these winter grasses are largely dormant at this time of the year with little growth. We are confident that they will recover well with a little help from mother nature and spring growth. We have also kicked off a project to improve drainage in the bunkers. In addition we have sourced and ordered 230 tons of new sand which will be with us in the very near term.
We hope that you will return to see the fruits of our labour and have a better experience on your next visit. We apologise for the condition of the course and hope to win back your support as we go through this transitional phase.

Wow, a really spectacular scenic course, with some long steep up hills and long fairways, but the course was very enjoyable, even for a mug golfer like me.

Hi BapaCooch,
You're not wrong about those long steep hills!
I hope you've been back to visit us since that review in 2014, we've made a few subtle changes to the course. Love to know what you think!

Hello Irve2016,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, and I am happy to read that you found the course challenging! That's the way we like it.
Our rates have been in place for some time now, and we don't have any inclination to change them.
Come back and see us soon and best of luck with a hole in one!

Had a great round here on a Saturday afternoon. Virtually no one else on the course so pace of play was excellent. Lots of tight tree lined fairways, doglegs, water and good greens
Thoroughly recommended

Hello Baxie,
Thanks so much for leaving us this review, I appreciate you taking the time to write it.
Some afternoons can be quiet which makes it a great opportunity to take your time and play the full 18-holes.
Even though carts are due back at 5:45 PM on a Saturday afternoon during our Spring and Summer months anyone can take advantage of our twilight golf any time of the year.
We're still modifying our greens to improve them further, so I hope we'll see you soon Baxie.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Dinner for our motorcycle Christmas party was delicious - served buffet style there was a great appetising choice.

Hello Christine T,
Nothing quite like a buffet dinner that brings people together is there?
Glad you could come down and share your Christmas festivities with us at the Kangaroo Valley Golf & Country Resort along with your friends. Hoping that you left with some very fond memories of the area, and the golf course!
See you soon for your next big Christmas party at the end of 2018, we're only 11 months away from the festive season so we can start planning!! Maybe a prawn or two on the BBQ?

Hi Janey M,
"Challenging", yes it is! But I'm glad to see that you enjoyed yourself and made the most of our Woolshed. Did you know we're open for dinner now on a Friday and Saturday evening? Winter's a great time to visit as we have the old woodfire burning which adds to the historic ambiance. Thanks for taking the time to leave us this kind review.

Cabins on a golf course sound ideal if you are golfers but we are not. We wanted to stay in Kangaroo Valley and this seemed like a good place. It was perfect. The golf course is a few Km outside the village of Kangaroo Valley and the cabins are spread around the edges of the course. We arrived after a busy week in Sydney and immediately all our cares were blown away by the feeling of tranquillity when we arrived at our cabin. Views across the alley to the mountains highlighted by early morning and evening sun. The occasional kangaroo grazing. One evening a trip down to the river to see wombats who show complete indifference to your presence.
Cabins are fully equipped, beds comfortable. Buy provisions on the way as there are limited supplies in the village. Several restaurants in the village. Included internet works in reception and is slow.

Hello Vincent W,
Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the weekend with us in Kangaroo Valley.
One of the great advantages of being only two hours south of Sydney is that you can leave the hustle and bustle of city life for a weekend. Perhaps the slow internet isn't such a bad point. Maybe it forces people to disconnect for the weekend!! Either way, there are other relaxing activities too, from the golf to wombat spotting.
Look forward to welcoming you back again in 2018, and thanks again for the lovely review.
