Best beach snorkling on the planet

Saw more species of fish and turtles in an hr underwater than I have in a year. Make sure you make the effort to swim out away from the fish feeding and explore.

I fed the fish, I had a swim, but nothing spectacular, If you are into snorkeling, it may be better. I did it because it was an LHI thing to do,

Spent a few afternoons snorkeling at this pristine beach. The water is crystal clear and not far out from the beach saw an amazing array of colourful fish, corals and sea-life. Best to snorkel near low tide. There is a shed at Ned's beach where you can hire snorkel gear and wetsuits. We had brought our own gear from home... More

We came here on my birthday and what an experience. Not only is it absolutely beautiful (as is everywhere on this island) with crystal clear water but the fish feeding was amazing! Just by wading into the water the fish will surround you but when you feed them many many more join in and some quite big ones too. We... More

Not only you can experience feeding big fish for $1 (make sure you bring coins for the food), but also try going at around sunset (they say sunrise as well). The birds are then returning to their nests. It is something incredible. So much noise and such a spectacular thing to watch! Enjoy a swim at the beach too of... More

Ned's beach is part of the no fishing zone on Lord Howe, so the fish near the beach are large and hungry. It is a very beautiful location and can be enjoyed at most times of the day. It is a great place to end some of the longer walks around the northern end of the island.
