Picture postcard beach, clean pale sands, turquoise waters. The water is so clear and calm when the weather is fine (as it was for seven out of our eight days). Swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding or just sunbaking this is a wonderful beach. Never busy (most people were round the Settlement end) and marvellous at the end of the day when... More

The lagoon is one of the most stunning attractions on Lord Howe Island. The waters are crystal clear. Swimming is safe and there are random clumps of coral. There are fish and an occasional Ray. The lagoon is west facing and calm except when westerly winds blow. The colour of the water is amazing and a photographers dream with the... More

The lagoon is central, safe and clean, and the biggest beach on the island. Despite being in "town", it is utterly tranquil and boasts gorgeous views at every step of its panorama, bookended by mountains. Several eco-friendly activities and excursions can be had, plus picnic tables and barbecues are dotted around and free to use. A truly lovely beach.

The lagoon beach was wonderful to just sit and look at the activities or just forget about the world. It was easily to swim in this location. The water was warm and the setting of high trees was lovely.

Another fantastic place to swim, especially at the north end Under the Pines. You can also hire kayaks and paddle boards.

Having come to Lord Howe Island 8 times it took until now to discover that between the Airport runway and the lagoon is a tiny beach which is sheltered and a perfect little getaway. Not that there are crowds as only 400 visitors are allowed on LHI at any time but usually my wife considers a crowd is 2 other... More
