I love this cinema despite the shocking seats. I take my own cushion and select a seat without rips and tears but still find it a bit uncomfortable and yet I go back for more. Why? Because they run top movies, French cinema amongst other indie and Arthouse. Also love the Art Deco although faded glory I imagine what it... More

Over the years I have enjoyed the great architecture of the building, the funky art and good food. Only later did I realise how the owners of the cinema support our town with affordable movies, a venue for school productions and fundraising events with interesting and thought provoking showings. How lucky are we in Murwillumbah to have such a place.... More

The movies are always relaxed in this old world theatre. Its a pleasure to watch and you feel like your grandmother could have sat where you were and watched the big screen.

The Regent still has it's old world charm and lots of great features as well. A big balcony looking out over the town for a glass of wine or a coffee and a chat with friends before or after the movie. Good coffee and cakes, open on Sunday afternoons too when other places in town are not. The film selection... More

I love the way this theatre allows for bean bags on the floor down the front for kids and the kids at heart! I also love the way it supports it's local community by running fund raising events and screenings. It's truly a community asset and a theatre that gives more than just the screening of great movies! One in... More

We took the kids to watch kung fu panda 3, the staff were so friendly and split a large popcorn into two pack so my kids could have one each. I loved the old projector and the outside seating. I will definitely come back

My partner and I have attended several fundraising events and new movies at this theatre. The owners are renowned for giving huge support to community service clubs, fundraisers for the afflicted locally and internationally. They do their best to support local, national and international performers but unfortunately the public often do not appreciate their generosity to the community. The ambience... More

I have been going to the Regent since it opened in the 40's mourned it's long sleepi in the 70'sand 80's and enjoyed the dedicated operaters who breathed life into the smaller more intimate reincarnation sometimes showing to such small audiences that it felt like a private viewing Now it is such a quirky chic and homely venue that we... Beautiful art deco interior. Friendly owners. Great screen and excellent sound. Has a coffee shop and lovely to sit outside on the veranda. Lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls.
