Great little white sand beach with no waves for families!! Loads of sandcastle making opportunities. Good for swimming and paddle boarding too! Master 5 loved it (as did I) the water was warm, super clear and clean. The sand was nice and white, the parking was reasonable (what you would pay normally at any beach location) - all in all... Maybe we came at the wrong time of day (or year), but snorkeling was really quite disappointing. Few fish, which you can see anywhere around Sydney beaches anyway (mostly just schools of brim and some rock cods). Very strong current goes around the tip where the sand starts. Some very cold streams contrasted with otherwise warm water, which made swimming... More

Just went for snorkelling during Christmas, a very beautiful day. When you walk into the water, be careful of sharp oyster on the rock, I got cut on my toe. Many fish but the water is not quite clear. Another thing happened to me, for one time, I get into the water from Nelson bay where my family stay towards... More

Fly point is a little beach - mostly stoney - on the headland on Nelson Bay. A good place to snorkel from when the tide is high (take care there are strong currents here), but otherwise quite an ordinary place to visit.

At the north end of Nelson bay beach. A grassy hill with toilets and picnic tables. Also a stage for events and at the top end a skate park. Top diving spot but no fishing as a marine park.

Excellent spot for snorkelling, an abundance of fish, however recommend strong swimmers only, my husband and son were caught in a current and were only able to stay afloat as they were strong swimmers, luckily some passers by on kayaks were able to get them back to shore. Sadly a tourist had passed away the day before in the same... More

One of the most peaceful places to spend a day. We have been going there for nearly 30 years and have spent many a relaxing day just looking at people swimming, children playing, watching boating activity on the water. Possibly the safest beach in Port Stephens for children. Protected in north easterly winds which are prevalent in the summer period.

I have been diving here for 30 years and is is still a beautiful place to dive, snorkel, feed the fish, (as it is a marine santuary ),or just sit and look over the beautiful waterway of Port Stephens. In summer, parking can be a problem as being a great dive site, everyone wants to be there. But days like... More

I have been going to the beach and park for 25 years. It was great for my grandchildren when they were small. As my wife does not like waves we always go there, however in holiday periods there is not much room especially at high tide.

We happened upon the place during our stay in Nelson's Bay. It's a truly relaxing Point with very little traffic, so one could easily slip into meditation mode as your eyes gaze upon the calm relaxing azure waters. Not to be missed!
