Meroogal is a great afternoon's visit, the house is full of historic treasures, and a great place to take the kids, for a guided tour .Learn about the fabulous ladies of Meroogal, look at the beautiful handicrafts and learn about how they lived.

If you like living history museums, you will love Meroogal. We had a personalized guided tour through the house telling us the history of the four generations of women who owned the property. You do need to find opening hours, the visitor centre has all the details.

We spent a delightfully informative afternoon wandering around Meroogal. The lady guide had a lot of knowledge and I came away with a very clear idea of what life was like in this house in the early days of Nowra. Very interesting with some beautifully hand made furniture to admire. One of the best times to go is when the... More

This living museum has lots of interesting facts and interactive artefacts. Play the piano from the 1800's, pump water by hand from the well, look at 3D photos that I never knew existed so long ago and lots of other interesting artefacts. Our tour guide was very friendly with lots of information about the family, the house and the local... More

Had been wanting to visit Meroogal for years but as it has restricted opening times this proved difficult. It was worth the wait to see and we enjoyed a tour of the house with a volunteer guide then spent some time wandering around by ourselves. Inside the house is so interesting...the guide opened cupboards, drawers etc to show as many... More

Lovely experience and very knowledgeable 'host' of this impressive place. A lot of see and a wonderful way of stepping back in time in the home of an influential family, perhaps.
