Great day out and snow in Summer!

Had a great walk to the top of Australia and absolutely loved it! Well worth the price of the chair lift and we had a great time playing in the snow. Be prepared for a very windy... read more

Had a great walk to the top of Australia and absolutely loved it! Well worth the price of the chair lift and we had a great time playing in the snow. Be prepared for a very windy and cold walk. We were well rugged up and were fine but we saw heaps of kids who were not dressed for the... More

We weren't sure about visiting in summer, especially as we don't ride mountain bikes! The walking is spectacular and the views are wonderful. Although some restaurants were closed in the village, there was plenty to see and do.

My Kosciusko is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been hiking to, even in late November there is still snow, only advice is be mindful of sudden changes in weather even when Jindabyne weather is warm it can get VERY cold even half way up to Mt Kosciuszko

What a ripper of a place this is!! If you love nature and to explore what Australia has to offer, I would HIGHLY recommend coming to the Snowy Mountains. I would love to visit in the snow to see the different contrast to what you see in the spring/summer time. I was lucky enough to capture some snaps of a... More

We have just returned from a10 days in Mount Kosciuszko National Park. It is a winter wonderland but in late Spring it comes alive with beautiful alpine flowers and rich green mountain meadows. We camped near the Old Geehi Hut and made this our base to explore the area. We visited all five old emergency huts which were brilliant. We... More

This is the 2nd time I have completed this walk, and in late spring it was the perfect time! We caught the chairlift from Thredbo Village ($35 return each) and then walked to the summit. It took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk to the summit, but in some places there was still snow across the walking... More

We visited the Kosciuszko National Park in November, there was still snow on the ground in some places. The National Park is a great place to do hiking and camping. Before going into the park, we visited the Visitor Center in Jindabyne. We also got our permit there (17$ per vehicle for 24 hours). We then drove to Charlotte Pass... More

My wife and I walked up Kosi a year ago and I proposed to her) when I could place her on the highest pedestal possible on our continent). It was a solid effort walking up but certainly doable for anyone without a physical handicap. The views and scenery were beyond what we expected and I would recommend to anyone considering.... More

Beautiful area, well worth going for a day or two. The summit walk is not hard at all, but it does take quite a long time. Be sure to check whether it has been snowing and come prepared for that (we were surprised with snow late November). It can get quite cold at night, even in the summertime, so bring... More

Park entry fees are a bit over the top compared to Tasmania but looks like the money is being well spent in the area which is good to see. Not sure why everything closes in Thrrdbo during summer when lots of hiking and mountain biking is happening. Massive opportunity being missed by tourism in the area. One very disappointing thing...
