A quick spot before Longwoods Gardens in town, and out of all the other shops this is a must if your a mushroom head like we are. Friendly and informative ladies who were helpful. They have all sorts of Unique gifts and delicious mushrooms. Prices where average of what you expect in the area but affordable. Definitely pick up a grow your own kit and eat local made, it just tastes better.

I was kind of disappointed. There was a lot of dollar store stuff with mushrooms on them. The gift shop at Phillips mushroom museum was definitely better. I wouldn’t fight the traffic for this one again.

We were in the Kennett Square for a mystery picnic, and this was one of the stops. Interesting shop. From the video they show, we learned quite a bit about farming mushrooms. They have a variety of mushrooms for sale as well as cookware and home decorations. If you are in the area its worth a 30-minute stop. Street parking is available but beware of side street parking that requires a parking permit.

As the name implies, lots of mushroom based ingredients and cookware/accessories with mushrooms on it - dip mixes, etc.

But also a great spot for souvenirs and local art (ceramics) of the Kennett Square. Definitely stop in - part of the downtown walk/historic district.

Not a large place so suggest off hour visit if your schedule allows.

(Did not eat any of the cafe food.)

Today I enjoyed the sublime buttery smooth taste of a fresh Trumpet mushroom for the first time in years. It just melted in the mouth. Thank you, Mushroom Cap, for your wide variety of fresh mushrooms, your dried mushroom soup and the fabulous jar of mushroom salad. I made a special trip to Kennett Square for mushrooms and you did not disappoint.

Do not subscribe to The Mushroom Cap, Mushroom of the Month Club. It is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. They charge you $20 a month not including shipping (additional $5-$6). They send ONLY ONE PRODUCT per month from their store like 1 jar of sauce or 1 bag of dried soup ($5-6 selling price on their website). So you are paying $15 markup and that's not even including shipping (they charge you for that too). Not worth it at all. They just lie about what they'll send you if you call them, pretending they'll send more products to make up the rest of the value, but it's always ONE CHEAP PRODUCT per month.

We stopped in for mushroom soup and sandwich. We enjoyed the soup but the turkey sandwich was bland for me. I didn’t even finish it. My other half ate it instead.

What a delightful shop. They carry so many mushroom products, from food to decorations. They have a video they run and how mushrooms are grown and the different types. Kennett Square is the mushroom capital.

Stopped by after going to Longwood Gardens. Clerk was beyond slow and after 15 minutes I left. Drove down the street and bought fresh mushrooms for a 3rd of the price at a dollar a pound and marinated mushrooms for half of what this place charged.
