There is a small general information area, but we somehow expected more detailed information about the Amish and Mennonites. During a trip almost 30 years ago, we received mush more information; it was probably a different place that we couldn't find this time.

Dropped in here at the beginning of our visit to Lancaster County. It proved to be very useful. Sunday is very quiet here so we managed to plan around this and visit Stasburg railway.

We sat through this presentation for the second time because we loved it 2 years ago. The woman who taught it was excellent and inspiring!

We picked up our guide, Faye, watched the "We Believe" film, then on our way for our tour to the Amish Country. What an experience. It was a wonderful experience!

We stopped at the Mennonite Information Center because I wanted to be sure my children had background information on the Amish and Mennonite communities before we spent a day touring Lancaster County. The center definitely fulfilled that wish. The staff were very friendly and answered...More

No, the Mennonite Information Center does not offer ancestry services. The building beside them houses the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society, and they have resources for doing ancestry research.

The guide will advise you when you can take photos and when you can't. The Amish don't approve of photos of themselves, but if you are far enough away it might be all right.
