I have a "thing" for Presidential homes and this didn't disappoint. The guide was well informed and answered my 2.7 billion questions. We were the only two on the tour, so we had plenty of time to look at everything.

Stopped in Lancaster Historical Society with only a few minutes to spare and found a wealth of information on the area. Librarians on call were incredibly helpful. Exhibits looked very interesting. A genealogist's dream ~ we returned the next day and did not regret it!

An excellent guided tour by a well informed docent makes this visit enjoyable. Learn about President Buchanan's personal life and his presidency which preceded Abe Lincoln.

Great docent but a little slanted (naturally) toward the good points of James Buchanan. A very fun tour. Don't miss the little koi pond at the end of the driveway.

We visited this historical home of James Buchanan, the 15th President of the United States and would recommend it to anyone interested in the past. Our tour guide was in formal period costume and extremely knowledgeable about this president and the home’s residents. He made...More
