Rock Ford Plantation is the 18th Century mansion and estate of Revolutionary War General Edward Hand, who served as Adjutant to George Washington. Built circa 1794, over 90% of the original historic fabric of the house, including shutters, woodwork, floors and glass, is intact. During the guided tour of the mansion, visitors will learn about Edward Hand's personal and military history as well as the background of the mansion and the artifacts contained therein.

The plantation itself is nicely kept, excellent staff and it should be on the history buff's visit list. That said, there's not much there of interest unless you like that type of American history information.More

We never heard of this site until we got to Lancaster. We took a cab to and from and caught the last tour of the day. We really liked it. The grounds were beautiful and the house really something to see.

I would live here if I could. The grounds are so nice and well maintained that I imagine weddings here are quite beautiful. A nice piece of history in the middle of the park that we are thankful has been preserved.More
