Both tour guides were extremely knowledgeable about the history and current lifestyle of the Amish. We found it all fascinating. Such a beautiful, pristine, scenic area!We are so glad you enjoyed your visit! We really appreciate the kind words. Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. - Tim G5 contributionsBest Amish Trip & Guide ever.Holiday Tours provided a motorcoach with 50 passengers requiring a custom tour provided by "The Amish Farm House". Tim Talley was our personal step on guide and was just amazing. The tour was roughly 2 hours with several special stops and opportunities to shop and explore along with a vast amount of knowledge that was given to our passengers. His personality and charm won our people over in a matter of minutes along with his unique sense of humor, stories and jokes. We consider ourselves blessed to have had this opportunity and highly suggest their servicesThanks for the great review! - Fred S231 contributionsSANTA AND GOATS.The Amish Farm and House did their annual Santa 🎅 and Goats 🐐 event on 12/9/23. The weather was perfect for December. If you have young children and can get to this place, I strongly recommend this event as an alternative to a mall Santa. It was a great day. You can take your pictures and then you can tour the farm. This place also offers bus tours of the Amish Country. Keep in mind all Amish owned / operated business are closed on Sundays. The BBQ barn was open; they had awesome hot pretzels. If there was only 1 thing I could add, the BBQ barn would serve the apple cider milkshakes during the Santa and goats event. We're delighted you enjoyed your visit with Santa. With our bus not being at capacity and Dale being a knowledgeable tour guide, everyone agreed it was well worth the ticket price. I love the personal anctedotes Dale shared. He was so patient answering all of our questions. We managed to go to three stops and was given ample time to visit so we could keep on schedule. I'm so glad someone suggested to do this tour. Thanks so much for the kind words about Dale! You see , my sister and I always baked our Christmas cookies together, and since her passing, my neice and I carry on the tradition. The driver of our bus was so informative! I thought I knew about the Amish..but I learned so much more. And it didn't feel like a history lesson..but more like a friend telling us a story. All the homes where very inviting and the cookies so good. We were able to bring home cookie samples , recipes and baked good too. I would recommend this trip to anyone! Treat yourself next Christmas! Thanks so much for touring with us, it's touching to hear your reasoning behind the tour. So glad you were able to create a new memory. It was an insightful bus ride with Dale through the country side...there was no question he could not answer! - Lynda BMontreal, Canada218 contributionsInteresting visitI went with a bus tour. We had Peggy. The house was very interesting, but there was another tour right behind us so I felt like they pushed us to go faster and we didn't get all our questions answered. They then brought us in the country to see Amish people, but once we came back we did not have time to visit the rest of the property. I did however get to run to the schoolhouse. It was so cute. Wish I was able to go to the covered bridge. This should be visited on your own to really enjoy the Amish land. It is worth a visit if you are interested in Amish people.Thank you for visiting! My husband and I did the "Premier Tour Package" that included a 30-minute tour of the farmhouse and a 90-minute bus tour around the area. Both guides were informative, although sometimes their information was inconsistent (e.g., one saying that the Amish community in Lancaster was the biggest in the country and the typical family here has 6-8 children and the other saying that the biggest Amish community is in Ohio and the average family in Lancaster had about 9 children). Nonetheless, we enjoyed both tours and learned a lot!

We loved our bus tour with driver Annie (or Anne?). She was so knowledgable, answered all our questions and we felt like we got a lot of value for our money. We did not do the house tour due to time constraints but did head down to the barn where the staff let us hold 4 day old baby goats!! What a thrill to top off a wonderful experience! Highly recommend and would go back with any new visitors to the area! Five stars!

We enjoyed a lovely tour of the Amish home at the hands of a very knowledgeable guide, Lena! She had so much information about the home itself as well as Amish history and culture - we learned a lot! The gift shop was very nicely price and we left with lots of mementos and gifts. The self-guided tour of the farm was easy to follow. We definitely recommend this as an easy way to acquaint oneself with the Amish culture without being intrusive in their community.

We entered just wanting to browse the store but somehow we got corralled into buying tour tickets. The brief lecture part was interesting but the house tour, discussion and walk through was not worth the cost. It was cold and dreary so walking through the farm area was not something we wanted to do but is available after the home visit. There is also an add on that takes a group on a bus tour to some pre approved Amish Folks homes and a roadside store. We found those things on our own and explored the area without shelling out money. We found some nice, quality made (Amish pride and workmanship) items that we bought for our home. We enjoyed our visit and would like to go back some day during nicer weather and better time of year.

Thanks for your recent visit! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the guided house tour and learned a few new things about the Amish. We are proud to be America's first educational Amish museum, with the purpose of educating the public about the Amish.
The weather surely did put a damper on your day, the farm is so beautiful in the Spring, Summer and Fall but winter days can be quiet dreary. If you're in Amish Country again, we'd suggest stopping by when we have Amish artisans and crafters for you to interact with.

This is my third time visiting the Farm. I have enjoyed it every single time! The first two times, it was with my husband and we just did Goat Yoga and walked around a bit. It was lovely. This third time, I brought my Niece, her son, my brother and sister in law...We did yoga in the early afternoon and spent the rest of the day just walking around, visiting with the animals, feeding our faces on the most delicious food I've had in quite some time. The baby goats were the highlight of the trip. Although they were a bit young to really participate in the yoga, it was still a lot of fun to watch them play. We will be back in about a month for another session of yoga, and will be bringing more people. Thank you ALL for being as gracious and welcoming.

It sounds like you filled an entire day with FUN and baby goats. You saw and experienced the best parts of the farm- from the BBQ barn food to feeding the animals.
The first few weeks of goat yoga are very special, as the goats are still young and love to jump around and play. In July-August they like to climb and jump on people more. We can't wait for you to experience it again when they are 2 months old!

My wife and I live 45 min away and I personally have worked with the Amish so we already know quite a bit about the culture. We took my sister who came up from Virginia on the tour. My wife and I still learned something new during the bus tour. The bus tour was nicely done. They did a great job of maintaining social distancing and the driver was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We stopped at two places that I wasn't aware of and that turned out to be a find for my wife and I. The farm house tour was brief but informative as well. The guide for the house tour was also very good. It's not a complete Amish home since portions of the home were converted into space for the business. The farm itself is a self guided tour but the grounds are spacious and there are a lot of interesting exhibits as well as animals. Be sure to visit the wood carver. There is an outbuilding selling food, snacks, & drinks and plenty of outdoor seating. The day we were there they had a chicken and rib BBQ. We didn't eat anything there but the BBQ looked and smelled really good. My sister enjoyed everything as well. It was a really nice day out. Especially after months of lockdown due to the pandemic. Definitely a good value & we definitely recommend. Even if, like my wife and I, you already know a bit about the Amish.

Yay! It's so exciting to hear that we were able to share new information with you. We are happy that you felt safe and comfortable with our social distancing protocols on our bus.
It sounds like you really enjoyed the farm tour more than anything! Our woodcarver, Chris, is a character and such a great artisan. He is here Thursday-Saturday, so happy you were able to meet him.
You might want to make a return trip back to the farm... the BBQ is DELICIOUS. Be sure to order a soft pretzel too.

It was raining when I did my tour. I thought that I would be actually seeing the Amish people in their houses. But that's okay. I got to see a glimpse of what their houses will look like inside the House Tour, how their clothes look like, the rooms, the kitchen, and even for when there is a funeral. It amazes me how, in this modern, wasteful world, there are still people who value frugality. And this frugality is turned into an asset by way of entrepreneurship. I especially appreciate how my questions about winter has been answered: how they go to school when there is snow, and how they keep themselves warm.
The bus tour, by coincidence, was a great help, as I had a painful time walking due to sprain of my hip from walking the previous day. I was able to see the community life: school, church, farm, workhouse (for the blacksmiths), and horse-and-buggies we met throughout the trip. I learned of the fact of how a buggy would look like based on the passengers in it. Rumspringa was also explained. I was amazed the see the Dutch Belted cows (aka the Oreo cows, and as per another traveler when he described the brown belted cows, the 'S'mores cows'. The tour guide loved the term, and she'll use it from then on), as well as the cows which I thought were Texas Longhorns (I could be wrong). I was also amazed how they were able to harness technology to suit their needs.
When I did the house tour, I didn't expect to see alpacas!!!! Yey!!!
This tour made me travel back in time. Yet, it also made me realize that the Amish way of life is a countertrend to what modernism teaches: those who do not accept progress fail to thrive. The Amish people have used history and progress to their advantage to keep life as it is and has been.

Speedy, friendly check-in for tickets. Bus itself was clean and air-conditioned. Our guide, Barry, was articulate and knowledgeable. A very nice tour through surrounding countryside filled with great narration but not one of those tours where the driver bellows at you non-stop. Great work, Barry!
They make two stops along the way with restrooms, ice cream, milkshake and snack possibilities. Evenly spaced so young children will have chances to use a bathroom if you’re considering bringing them with you.
The farm itself we toured and was good but not phenomenal. Not a negative at all, just didn’t reach out and grab you. Some goats, cows and so on. Young kids will enjoy it more than older one.
Great trip, great guide and a wonderful experience. Worth the money.

Hey! Thanks for your kind words about our tour guide Barry. He's a retired school teacher and a native to Amish Country. He even went to school with Amish children, he knows his stuff. We will share your kind words with him.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the stops on the bus! The ice cream is to die for. The air-conditioned bus is a great bonus during the summer months.

I have been telling everyone I talk to how wonderful our experience here was! My friend and I took our 4 kids (ages range from 5 years to 10 months old) and were really impressed. The interior of the facility itself was clean and organized, the employees were friendly (one young woman even helped me lift my stroller into the kitten house so my sleepy toddler could participate!), and the outdoor grounds were well kept and peaceful. We enjoyed hands-on time with the chickens, baby goats, and even some adorable kittens and fed lots of hungry goats and one impressive steer.
We never felt rushed or crowded, and it was a great low-key way to spend a day with a group of little people. Hand sanitizer pumps were placed everywhere, and it was clear that lots of thought went into making the property safe without taking away any of its charm. Well priced, conveniently located, perfect. Highly recommend!

I was there for Goat Yoga. This was my second time there and I will be back! Although I an terrible doing the yoga, laughing and enjoying the baby goats is well worth the time. The young ladies helping with the class and everyone there was so cheerful and made everyone feel welcome. I will be bringing others back to do the yoga and the tours.

Hi! All our tours depart from our farm (2395 Covered Bridge Drive) Here are 3 ways to get to our farm.
1. Schedule a pickup service with us! We will pick you up from the train station and drop you off again after your tour. Our pickup service must be reserved 24 hours in advance. Call the farm to schedule this service. (easiest and cheapest way)
2. Take an Uber or Taxi from the station. (This can be very costly)
3. You can also take the public bus. Bus #14 from the Queen Street station to Rockvale Square. (You must take a taxi/uber from the station to the bus station)

Correct! You buy the ticket and we give you the tour time. However house tour times do follow a pattern. The first house tour of the day is 45 minutes after the opening hour. The last house tour of the day starts 15 minutes before we close. For example when our opening hours are 9-6pm, this would be the schedule of house tours: 9:45, 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 1:45, 2:45, 3:45, 4:45, 5:45.
