My husband grew up near Idlewild so he went many times as a child, but I'd never been there. We took our 2 girls, ages 2 & 5 to spend a day this summer. They loved Story Book Forest and seeing all they're favorite fairy...More

This is a charming park. If you visited as a child you'll recognize many parts but there's also lots that's new. It's well maintained, lots of trees for shade. There's no huge asphalt parking lot, you park among the trees and fields.

Very disappointed. Hallaboo event on Oct 23, 2016. Only a few Story Book Forests venues gave out candy to the children. Few rides open. Very pricey admission of $37.99 per person including children, only children 2 and under are free.

why does this park close in the middle of August? I was just looking for a trip in maybe the end of August and thought we could swing by Idlewild Park one day. I was surprised to see that it closes mid-august and has limited operation on weekends. Thats so much lost revenue in the summer. I don't get it.

The help hired at the Park are college and high school students, many are heading back to school, thus no one is there to operate rides and stands. Unfortunately, as beautiful as the Park is, the owners aren't taking care of... More
What besides Storybook Forest can an 18m old do here? She walked fine on her own, but I'm worried she can't ride kiddie rides by herself yet.
