If Longwood Gardens is for adults then Tyler Arboretum is definitely for kids. Longwood is too huge for little kids but you can do just about everything at Tyler Arboretum and still make the relatively short walk back to the car if a tantrum erupts. Don't think this is only for kids. Once you get deep into the Arboretum you... More

As a former Widener University employee of more than 16 years, I was anxious to see this new expansion for the University. Although the arboretum was developed in 1931 as a memorial to the wife of a Pennsylvania attorney, it has now become part of the University and will be safely and respectfully used as part of the curriculum for... A group of us consisting of 4 families with kids from age 2-13 years old had a great time visiting the Arboretum. Although it was hot (it was our fault for picking the middle of the day on a hot August day to go), the kids had a blast. It was a bit of walking but the openness and safe... More

We spent several hours hiking three of the 6 hiking trails. It was lovely and we had a great time - there is so much to see and do there for families and friends. We loved th Butterfly house and the little treehouses and structures made out of woods - there was a caterpillar, a "nest" with a large "robin's... More

I come here with my daughter at least once a week just to get some fresh outdoor time. There's always fun events and very nice stuff to help. We love this place!

Not too far west of Philadelphia, you will find the Tyler Arboretum which has something for everyone. It is a little out of the way but worth the trip. After paying our admission, we began our stroll through the Arboretum. It was a Monday in Summer and there were several groups of children appreciating the gardens. There are shady sections... More

I am so lucky to live near this place. Very open and friendly, never noisy or overcrowded. It is so beautiful here and the employees can really answer questions you may have thoroughly! Do not miss this if you love nature!

Us two senior citizens went to Tyler Arboretum for the trees -- and we were not disappointed! You can walk for a couple of miles there and still not see everything. Some azaleas, rhododendrons and a small cluster of iris were blooming when we visited in mid-June. There were several groups of quite young children also visiting -- for them... More

Large collection of trees and ground cover, many local varieties. A trail map was provided but the grounds had more history than was provided in the handout. There were some informational sing scattered throughout the park but there could have been a much better effort to explain the area, history, plants. There were several children's areas to play but looked a... More
