Easy Acess Waterfall
Jan. 2021 • Couples
We took a day trip to see the falls. It's a very quick five minute walk from the parking area to the fall. It was neat that there was a bridge that took you behind the veil. However, the walkway down to the fall took away from the natural beauty when viewed from the observation deck. The area is restricted as well so you can't hike out to see the fall straight on. It was a nice day trip but I wish there was more trails to make the trip worthwhile.

All Dryed up
Oct. 2020 • Friends
No water at a water fall. It is ALL dried up. Roads are terrible to narrow to pass. This is not the State Park. It is a small county park. People get it mixed up with the other Buttermilk Falls.

Nice park with neat boardwalk
Jun. 2020
Stopped by here while on an afternoon drive. Nice small county park with a neat boardwalk down and below Buttermilk Falls, an area which was once owned by Mr. (Fred) Rogers' family. There's a picnic pavilion and some hiking trails beyond the path to the falls. Probably not somewhere to spend all afternoon, but good for a nice stop.

Not worth the trip
Apr. 2020 • Couples
Not worth the trip. Closed at the moment. When it is open there is no parking. It is so packed you can’t get a decent photo. The road is only wide enough for one car at a time or you get in the ditch and have to be pulled out by AAA. Unless it has rained that day there is no water to actually make it a FALLS.

Buttermilk Falls Natural Area
Mar. 2020
This site is about 20 minutes from where we live so we try to go once a year. For a smaller falls area, it is a great natural area to get out and walk around. The falls are about 45 feet in height. The falls were running heavier the day we visited - we have been here in the summer and the falls are much smaller then. There is a well maintained path and bridge that is built over the creek. There are now stairs to the bottom of the falls and you can actually walk behind the falls. There are 2 other smaller falls in the area and looks to be some stone foundation ruins nearby. There is an information board with pamphlets and map of the falls area. This land was owned by the McFeely's which were the grandparents of Fred Roger's from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. There are a few picnic tables under roof and restrooms onsite. There are a few walking trails (which I have never been on) Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash.

This beautiful hidden gem is right in my backyard. About 30 minutes from my home. I plan on visiting this place every season. Absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful place
Sep. 2019
Very nice and refreshing place to visit. It is a beautiful area and really neat that you can actually walk under the waterfall. Fun place for all ages even though I would not recommend it to a handicapped person.

Kind of business...

Love this area. Took over ownership of a Geocache here so that it wouldn't disappear. Great history and has gotten better as the years have gone on.

Hidden Gem
May 2019 • Family
Found this place by accident during a weekend camping trip nearby. Lived within an hour my whole life and never knew it was there! Amazingly tall waterfall for the area. New bridge constructed during the eclipse gives better access. Slippery slope to the bridge but after that steps and landings down the waterfall. You can walk out into the shelf behind the falls too. Pavilion, newer bathroom, and hiking trail at the top of the hill.

Glass was EVERYWHERE!
Jul. 2019 • Couples
My boyfriend and I brought our small cockapoo to the buttermilk falls. We were looking for a small hike to take our dog on. The walk and falls were absolutely beautiful. HOWEVER, we got about 3/4 up the hike and we started to find pieces of glass everywhere. The closer to the falls the more glass we found. I ended up having to carry my dog because I didn’t want his little feet to get cut. I don’t recommend wearing any open toe shoes. The falls are very clearly a hangout spot for teens. There were a lot of broken beer bottles, and garbage laying around. It sucks because the place was absolutely gorgeous and Would be a great place to swim if I wasn’t for all the broken glass.
