Located at the southern reaches of the Laurel Ridge, Ohiopyle State Park encompasses approximately 20,500 acres of rugged natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Laurel Highlands. Close to major metropolitan areas and offering vast choices of activities. Passing through the heart of the park, the rushing waters of the Youghiogheny River Gorge are the centerpiece for Ohiopyle. The "Yough" provides some of the best whitewater boating in the eastern United States, as well as spectacular scenery. Other activites are biking the Great Allegheny Passage, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, picnicking, horsebacking riding, rock climbing, and hiking.

Beautiful will maintained area located in a hub of activity. The staff in the visitor center are extremely friendly very helpful. With the visit!

I highly recommend you stop at the Visitor Center so you can get the best view of the falls in the center of the town of Ohiopyle. Thanks to one of the local shopkeepers for letting us know about it.

Stayed two night in an Rv.. Clean with friendly staff. Not really set up for big rigs and long trailers. Best sites are for the tent campers which are closer to the river. Clearly marked trails and about 20 minute hike to Ohiopyle downtown area....More

Cucumber Falls the Natural water slide also the main Falls area on the Yough river Kentuc Knob also is nice. The whole area is very scenic.

The only area I have seen tubing is the Middle Yough. Rapids are classified as Class I & II. It runs between Confluence and Ohiopyle.
