The art museum has a nice collection of art from a wide range of time periods and styles. Starting with baroque and renaissance and moving on to impressionists and American realists to modern and contemporary, you get a sense of how art has changed over the centuries.

At first I was impress by the architectural collection but the reproductions are not always in good conditions. The painting collection is eclectic. Some pieces are very impressive. Some modern art is borderline joke. Very nice neighbourhood to grab something to drink after a long visit. Definitely most do. Very friendly staff.

I will tell you that I don't know about art, but I appreciate art that I like. We appreciate tagging onto docent tours to hear some of the histroy behind the artwork. I will also tell you that we've toured the museum several times, spending 2 - 3 hours each and there is always something interesting to experience. they also... More

I am glad this museum has art and the natural history section. My little one got bored with the art section very quickly. It's a great visit for adults. They have a huge modern art collection on display. We also enjoyed all the renaissance artists and john constable similar art work. Our favorite section was the architecture displays. It's an... I am a member of the CArnegie Museums beacuse I can choose to linger among the impressionists or experience something new and unexpected. Never disappointed, form the entrance to the exit, with a little lunch in between.

Beautiful open museum. Interesting modern exhibits and some familiar and less familiar masters. Good value if your hotel has a deal. Lacks a cafe at present.

Beautiful building with a very impressive collection of art. Parking can be had in the museum parking lot. Turn onto S. Craig Street off of Forbes to get to the museum lot. We spent $6 for over 4 hrs in the museum. Entry fees are adjusted for seniors, adults, students, members, etc. The museum houses one of our most favorite... More

I wish I had more time to spend. The rooms I enjoyed the most were he impressionist artists and the American artists. Well worth the time to visit.

Matt and I spent the better part of a day here. The Hall of Architecture and Hall of Sculpture were both simply amazing. The various other galleries hold all sorts of gorgeous pieces, with a surprising number of works by famous artists that I have never seen. They have a few too may modern/abstract pieces for my taste as after... More

Having spent years in Pittsburgh I have been both to events hosted at the museum and to shows there for decades. I can't imagine not going regularly. I love this place even just to sit quietly in some of the marble halls.
