I took my Girl Scout here to make Christmas ornaments. What a great activity and a fun learning experience. The Christmas ornaments were all beautiful. The girls were able to pick their colors so each one was unique. I want to go back and make one myself.

My wife and I stopped in to see this place last weekend. We didn't work with any glass but the option was there to join a class. The classes that were in progress were open for us to walk in and observe. Everyone was very friendly and passionate about working with glass. We watched glass blowing and sculptures being made.... The time I spent at The Pittsburgh Glass Center went by quickly because I was so entertained. The demonstrations were given by people who have a passion for the art they create. And that passion was contagious. The explanation of the various steps that I watched form beautiful works of art were easy to understand and had me believing it... More

I love this place. I've gone for classes, demos, and lectures. Everything is always well planned and well run. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the artists they get in are first rate. A real asset for Pittsburg.

In all honesty, I didn't know this place existed,or what they offered until a few weeks ago. I know a whole lot more now! A group of us friends had birthdays this month, and wanted to do something different,so we scheduled a 2 hour class on May 7. The center runs all sorts of classes for anyone interested in learning... This is something everyone should experience. We have taken several classes here and keep going back for more. We have had excellent teachers. Very friendly & knowledgeable. We have made glass flowers & pumpkins here. It can get expensive, but there are cheap classes you can take. It's worth every penny though!!! They do demos on Fridays that are free... More

Loved this place! We went here to explore glass working and be creative. The class, making a wine stopper, was small and the teacher was informative and positive. We had a great time, learne

A few weeks before our visit we were commenting on the beauty of blown glass ornaments in a gift shop. We all said in unison "wish I could make it". And a quick google search led us to the most incredible ladies night I have ever experienced! We booked a private make it now class with a demonstration. These need... More

I took a week long class at the glass center. The facilities and the staff were great. I would do it again. If a class is not for you, then just take the time to visit their gallery and see some fantastic glass art.

This exhibit, featured until November 17, 2013, is called "Lifeforms". These glass sculptures are awesome and features artists such as Paul Stankard, Tim Jerman and Luke Jerram. It is definitely worth seeing during a visit to Pittsburgh. You can also view hot glass demonstrations.
