Stumbled upon a gem

We were walking around downtown Pittsburgh and found an ice rink. The tree and surrounding buildings gives it a magical feeling.

We happened upon the ice skating rink while visiting downtown. The price to skate was very reasonable, so we let our kids try out ice skating, they loved it! The setting is beautiful with a large, decorated tree in the middle, in the center of all of the buildings. We also visited the Winter Garden and it had a lovely... More

PPG place has an impressive holiday tree display along with a skating rink one can hop one. Rentals are apparently available. I am not aware of any building tours per se but the outside is a possible destination for 30 mins if en route to somewhere else.

Had some friends who have never been to the ice rink or the PPG building. We didnt go to ice skate which was good, the line to do so was very long. But it was nice to watch for a while and go into the PPG bulding to get a cup of hot coffee and walk around looking at the... More

Festive and family fun. Ice skating, International Santa and Gingerbread House display was astonishing. PPG Place, with its crystal-like buildings added to the wintery feel of the location. A must-go when visiting Pittsburgh during the holiday season.

These buildings are a feast for the eyes in a sea of concrete! Walk through Market Square or PPG Fountain Square.

We could not believe the beauty of this place, We would have not find it if it was not for our guide, George, who does Private Pittsburgh Tour. Book him as he loves Pittsburgh and knows its history and architecture. This was so amazing and beautiful.

Great building, but looks little like church. Together with five smaller ones, it surrounds the square with the fountain. This, combined with the black mirrored glass, brings some dark fillings.
