Came to the Pagoda during a recent trip to Reading for a wedding. We used to visit the Pagoda as kids, so wanted to reminisce. Looks the same as it always has and is still in great shape. The only thing that was disappointing was...More

A fun drive up the hill. The best view of the city. Anyone visiting Reading should take a turn up the mountain.

Can you still drive up for the view of the sunset when the building is closed or do they close the road access?

The road up there is always open. Most people actually go there just to see the pagoda from the outside since the shop is only open Sats and Sundays for a limited time.
Maybe you would like a zipline ride to your favorite bar in town. Then someone could drive your car down the hill and try to find you. Or maybe a paintball option to further degrade the serenity and peaceful atmosphere there. Plenty here to attract the cerebral mind that doesn't need to be entertained with bells and whistles. Just sit, stand or walk in the presence of historic architecture and natural beauty and appreciate it for what it is. Please don't criticize it for what it isn't. :-)
