I was in town for the holiday and my mom suggested we check this out. They had a cute little gift shop, restaurant (just your average foods), and the train ride. I brought my boyfriend and my brother brought his girlfriend (all in our 20s). We all enjoyed it but once you've seen it, once is enough.

Everyone was smiles from the ticket counter to the conductor. I would recommend sitting in the First Class Lounge. Great experience and fancy comfortable seats!

I enjoyed riding in on of these trains because I have never been on a stream train before . My home Town used to have them before I was born

Great rides for kids while waiting for Christmas train ride, carollers on train, and kids met Santa Claus (who had a gift for each kid).

We drove 2.5 hours to get here for the santa train. Because of limited tickets we had to purchase the first class seats. With memories of Polar Express we were hoping for more. It was a regular train ride and a santa, 2 band players and carol singers went thru each carriage in turn. The "town" was also fun though... More

Buy tickets early! We wanted the upgraded seats, but all were sold out. We rode coach, which was ok. Lots of little ones! Nice ride, milk and cookie, quick walk through by Santa made for a nice ride. Nice gift shop with lots of cute train souvenirs. Our "Ma" had to deal with no mic system but handled it well.... More

This was a lovely activity with two young children under 2. We attended the Santa train. I loved the ride- just right amount of time. My daughter really enjoyed seeing the animals from the train. We were in the coach car and it was comfortable enough. I thought the Carolers and horn players were excellent. My kids also received a... More

I first rode the Strasburg in 1970 as a kid. Now those engines have been retired and sleep across the street but the Strasburg continues to be the Gold Standard by which all other short line tourist railroads are measured. Last week I was invited to ride with some friends on The Night Before Christmas Train. In 45 years I... More

Can't count how many times we brought our kids here to ride the rails on the "oldest continously operating railroad in the US." Sans kids who are all grown up now, we old folks decided to ride the Christmas tree train. Having waited too long to book passage on one of the more exclusive cars, we bought coach seats and... After eating our bellies full at Dienner's Restaurant, I waned my cousin to see the Rail Road over in nearby Strasburg. Once before in December of 2007 my husband and I had taken the Christmas train ride that took you a few miles down the track past the Red Caboose motel and an old graveyard, as well as the back...
