We came here for the first time because of an advertised "French Market" event. First of all, it's basically a busy road with narrow sidewalks. Hard to find parking. Every time we passed another human on the narrow sidewalk, most refused to walk single file, so my daughter ana I and our dog were forced to be the polite ones. Every time. Plus, walking along a busy road with a narrow sidewalk right next to cars and trucks whizzing by detracted from the experience I had imagined. A highway walk does not match the "cute, quaint shopping village" vibe. It was more stressful than anything. And there were few crosswalks and drivers refused to stop. If you're looking to just spend money to acquire things, you might enjoy. But I'd rather do Peddlers Village. New Hope used to be wholesome but last time I went, it was overrun with the smell of marijuana and leather shops and shady characters. At least skipjack village was WAY more family friendly. I did like that. They just need better crosswalk support and a wider shoulder and sidewalk. Oh? And the "French Market"? It was like one crepe truck and a few French flags. Not well communicated or planned. Was supposed to go til 6:00. But most vendors packed up at 5:00. I could see 5:30. But why advertise it goes til 6:00 when it was really 5:00??

This gift store is unbelievable! It seems small from the outside but weaves around inside to deliver hundreds of gifts. There is unique pottery from Poland; kitchen gadgets you don't often see, even at BB&B; purses, glassware, aprons, tea towels (cheaper than what you see in Peddlar's Village, Lahaska, PA - just up the road), coffee, unique mugs/tea cups; seasonal decor items; oh but the list continues. The most important point is that the items are not cheesy, nor look cheap. But, the prices are reasonable! You need at least an hour in this store. I do have pictures to post...I'm looking to see where to click! Then you can see for yourselves how neat this store is.

Went for their illuminare night and was a bit disappointed. It sounded like a bigger event than it is, listing as hundred stores. It felt like just a few stores open and mostly thrift stores kind of feel. The main area had a road (Skippack Pike) running through it and it feels like you'll turn into road kill if you want to go to the stores right across the street. Ate at Basta Pasta which was delicious. I say just plan to have dinner there, nothing interesting.

I was told that I missed “Skippack Days” that were on Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Weekend. I tried to shop around ON Columbus Day Monday. I found only a few stalwart shopkeepers who opened for business. I was disappointed that the others didn’t choose to capitalize on a day that others might have had off from work. Also, I was unprepared for the truck traffic that speeds along the road that travels along the shopping district. I found the traffic to speed with disregard for posted limits. Be careful out there.

Quite a lovely small town with many( 80) quaint shops along side restaurants(30) offering a variety of cuisines. There are weekly events throught out the year including Classic Car Shows, carnivals and wine tastings. Building from the 18th and 19th centrury have been renovated and houses the shops and restaurants. A recently built hotel in the center of the village is most lovely and designed to meld in with the appearance of this historic village.

Great little shopping village! This village is made up of small businesses and because of that you will find the owner in the store or restaurant every time you visit. They are all welcoming and friendly!

We have company from out of town and wanted to drive into Skippack this weekend and shop around and have dinner. Unfortunately, half of the stores are closed and the Hotel Fiscole we wanted to eat at didn't answer the phone so we ended up at The Dutch which is just around the corner from Skippack Village. Dutch was good but not what were were planning on. Have no clue whose idea it was to close half the village down on one of the busiest weekends of the year.

A good small town shopping experience in a genuine small time. Shop after shop of goods and crafts as well as food items and restaurants. Walk from shop to shop. Lots of locals with their goods, too. Friendly people. Good way to enjoy a casual day.

Where do you park if you're going to be doing lunch and all this walking from shop to shop?

There are miscellaneous parking lots adjacent to shopping up and down the strip. We went at an off time and day (Columbus Day) and saw no one to ask. We didn’t have a problem, but many of the shops weren’t open.
