Went in to see this Winery... it was completely bare inside, and wasn't at all the "quaint" place I thought it would be.

I regret to advise that this destination has closed as of 12/21/15. Local media reports indicate that Internal family issues resulted in the closure. Indeed unfortunate because they had some delightful red wines which were masked by pop wines and wine slushes that seemed to get the most attention.

If you arrive at Shela-Lara expecting a visit to a traditional winery to taste traditional wines then you will be disappointed. Shela-Lara’s approach to wine is to infuse fruit essence into still wines to make something closer to a somewhat sweet cocktail than a glass of wine. These concoctions range from okay (strawberry white merlot) to downright undrinkable (sparkling pear,... More

This is a great tour with more samples than any other vineyard... they usually have a groupon where you can get 2 for 1 deals... there's a popcorn machine and they bring out small munchie platters of food for your table... the last sample is the best = D

My daughter took me here for my birthday, we had so much fun! We enjoyed the staff as well as the people at our table. Everyone was so friendly!

such a nice family run winery. Mom is a smart businesswoman and the sons are a chip off the old block. The wine is really good.In fact one of my sons took our last bottle and we went back to get another to take on our anniversary trip. Thanks to the family for the nice gift. It is a very... More

If you want an honest review from someone who knows and loves wine, please don't waste your time with this "winery." This place sucks, and the "wines" are somehow worse than the establishment.

I have visited vineyard all over the world and upon pulling up to ShelaLara was instantly skeptical. The winery is in a steel warehouse, whereas I'm used to wineries being this vast field of grapes with gorgeous views and buildings. Despite my skepticism I figured that I was there any way so might as well give it a go and... More

You kinda say 'huh" at first site as it's in a steel warehouse type building but don't let it fool you!! Inside was... More

I have to say that I learned more on their tour than I did when I visited wineries in California. Their wines are amazing!!! I personally like fruity and sweet wines so this place was definitely for me! I can't wait for package stores in connecticut to start carrying their wines! Their Wine Slush is unbelievable!!! I have had other... More
