One would not expect finding such a gem in sleepy town like Metkovic, both when architecture and archeology are in question. A fine collection, well presented, in a very informative way. Nobody passing through metkovic should miss it.

This is The Archeological Museum Narona. One of best small museums in Croatia and is a well hidden gem. Staff is great and location is close to border between Croatia and Bosnia and Hezegovina. Would recommend to see it if in the area.

This was a unique type of museum. They found a 1st century Roman Temple and built the museum around it. Some of the funds are very cool and intact. If you are in this area you should make the stop and see this museum.

Interesting layout of these recently discovered stone statues, minus their heads. A purpose built building contains the exhibits. A small museum dedicated to this one find. Our guide informed us that the heads of these statues are in the British Museum.More

A very nice museum-perfect fit in the space to preserve and glimpse the look of the Roman temple on which it is located. Kind staff is at your disposal for any questions regarding the finds or the way of life of that space and time.
