We went in September and the beach was beautiful, clean and so much fun. We walked to the rocks to the left of the beach and viewed the ruins there. Had a great time. New favorite beach.

However, beware! Late in the afternoon you get a sewer smell from a nearby plant. Other than that, we love this beach. It has a snack bar, showers, pavillion if the sun is too much, handicap parking and ramps, nice sand, good waves for boggy...More

It is the beach... no carnival rides, no nightclubs, no over-priced tee shirt shops here - although you can travel 5-10 mins up the road and get all that, if thats what you are looking for? The beach is clean and has a great vibe...More

There is a daily charge for cars. $12 during the week and $14 on weekends. No cost if you walk in. We drove most days in order to cart all of our stuff. There is usually a short line to get in (no more than...More

Surfing is not allowed at any RI state beach. Surfers sometimes do surf adjacent to the beaches. Concerning Scarborough state beach, you would not be able to surf in front of the beach. I am not a surfer but can say this... More
