This would be a cool place-if you didn’t have nut allergies
We were in the area and decided to stop off at the Big Apple. You can purchase a variety of candies, chocolate, wine, ciders and baked goods here. However, it is an nut allergy nightmare to a certain extent. There are the smells of yummy things being baked, but there is actually very little that can be purchased if you have said nut allergies. The only thing that I was able to buy was maple syrup, and a few other maple-based treats and goodies. They do have a souvenir area where you can purchase non-food items. This place also has its own brewery, petting zoo, train rides, mini golf, and ping-pong tables. I can see where a family could spend a few hours here for some entertainment.

    A must stop
Always a must stop for us on our way back from Ottawa or Quebec. We like to stop to stretch our legs, use the washroom. We always like to bring home a pie as well. Before we leave we like to make a stop in at the petting zoo. The price of the food has gone up it’s now 5.49 for a loaf of their homemade bread. Which is a bit much but for a treat it’s really good. They have also started selling Beavertails.

    Something For Everyone, and Fun!
The place has something for everyone. Lots of activities, such as mini golf and a petting zoo, and plenty of food either locally made or from small Canadian producers. The price for an apple pie is a tad high, but they taste great and are quite large. A must stop for us when we are on the 401.

Not as good as Momma used to bake
Looks like a great place to take the kids for an outing. The large shop was frenetic and many customers left laden with apple themed foodstuffs. There are viewing windows where you can see staff making pies and cheesecakes and crumbles, it all looks lovely. We tried some food and sat in the cafe. The apple pie flavoured coffee was interesting, but the famous apple turnover and apple cake were very underwhelming, leaving us wondering why the food here is so popular.

“Famous pies” according to them! I paid $20 for one of their famous pies, in this case blueberry. Quite honestly I’ve had much better blueberry pie at half the price! The texture and taste of the pie filing is something that you would expect from a cheap pie filing, sweet and nauseating. Don’t fall for advertising. I submitted my comments to them a few weeks ago. Their lack of a reply is quite telling.

One of the best pumpkin pies we've ever had, everyone agreed! Outstanding apple cider as well. We were very pleasantly surprised.

This place reminds me of the many similar places you find in the USA (the latest I visited was near St Louis, also reviewed here, before that a small one downtown Charleston, I think) yet to be found in other parts of the world - I love them.

We passed near this place when travelling from Toronto to Montreal and further east during our 3000 km trip and, upon returning, we decided to make a stop here (silly me, I thought the big amusing apple was just something being advertised and not a proper location like this) while missing the other 'fromagerie' locations we noticed mainly in Quebec:

- this place has a big free car park and I noticed a zoo (probably for the families coming here at the weekend). Lots of big coached bringing 'hoardes' of older or foreign tourists: well done to them
- access for handicapped, stairs for the rest take you inside the massive place, organised in many areas surrounding a pie making kitchen with glass windows where you can watch the 'elves' at work - I really liked that)
- sweets, chocolates, cakes, macarons, fudge, cider, drinks, fizz and anything else you can think of you will find it here
- we came thinking we might purchase a pie only but in the end we purchased so much and the value for money was great too: this depends on where you like shopping too
- there is also savoury stuff too, if you like stuffed pies etc
- very clean, large toilets, souvenirs, toys for kids and Tshirts for the older kids

Most surely I will return to this place: just the way they are preparing themselves now for the Halloween, I am sure they make the same effort all year round.

We're driving along, minding our own business, when suddenly we spotted it - a Giant Apple on the horizon!
As we approached it, we realized that we've stumbled upon the legendary Big Apple near Toronto.
Now, you might wonder if we’ve taken a wrong turn and ended up in the land of fruit-themed architecture, but fear not, we're just about to embark on an apple-tastic adventure.

As we enter the world of the Big Apple, we're greeted by the aroma of fresh apple pies that seems to be wafting from every corner. It's like a siren's call, tempting you to embrace your inner foodie and indulge in a slice (or three) of the most applelicious pie you've ever tasted. And let's be honest, we didn't come all this way to count calories, right?

But wait, there's more! We strolled through the gift shop and discovered apple-themed trinkets that you never knew you needed.
Apple-shaped keychains, apple-scented candles, and even an apple-shaped hat (because, why not?).

Next up, we wanted to venture to the observation deck atop the Big Apple, but unfortunately the the gate was locked. So we couldn’t enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding area perched atop a colossal apple, surveying the land as the apple overlord I always destined to be.

And just when you think our apple adventure couldn't get any zanier, we noticed a group of tourists posing for photos in front of the giant apple. We too decided to join the fun, striking our best "apple aficionado" pose.
Who knew that posing with a massive fruit could be so empowering?

So, there you have it , our escapade to the Big Apple near Toronto, where we embraced our inner fruit enthusiast, indulged in apple pie decadence, and proudly posed with a colossal apple. As we bid adieu to this quirky oasis, we couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all.
After all, life's too short to take giant apples
(or yourself) too seriously!"
Even this Big Apple on that day couldn’t keep us away …

We had a sad experience today. Nothing was up and running during our visit. No rides. No mini golf. No staff to ask questions outside. No staff in the petting zoo to stop a man with a dog from teasing the animals. Loss of an opportunity for my family (and others) and for your retail business to thrive.

Bought a box of apple fritters. 6 in a box. Very disappointed on the amount of apples in them. Coming from a apple orchard you think you would be able to taste some apples.
