Very beautiful swamps and woods.

There are many paths to take, and not many visitors. The bug level was very low, and it has very beautiful scenery. We went twice because it was such a good nature experience.

I visit these trails weekly. It is overall a good setup (especially compared to the area...) but lacking in trail maintenance. I have not been out there after a big storm, but judge by the trail erosion it'd have to be a mud-fest. I would recommend against taking young kids out here or those who are more fragile :). Instead... More

this 2.5 mile trail is excellent for hiking through forests and water ares. not many markings make for a wonderful adventure. Yes, I was lucky to observe a large gator resting on the banks of the water filled clay pits of the old brickyard. many great plant life can be observed. Very peaceful, yet the flow of the interstate nearby can... More

Very good scenic area to go and get away from the rat race! You can enjoy yourself on the many trails that go thru the area! Bring the family and let them enjoy natures greatness!

This is one of the nicest natural area we have visited. A number of trails meander through forest and meadow. A nice variety of birds for the calendar period we were there, late January. Watch out for the numerous fire ant mounds.

First trip to Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve. Don't confuse it with Congaree National Monument which is not too far away. Congaree Creek is very natural. Except for a few (sometimes too few) trail markers and the occasional bridge, very little is done to improve the trail. We went in early March and it was very wet in spite of it... More
