While it was cold and windy, we learned quite a bit of history travelling to the Fort as well as when we were there. The people at the fort were very informative as well as the people on the ferry going there

Yes, they have an elevator to take you to the different levels of the fort.
How long is the boat ride from the mainland to Ft. Sumter? I hate boats but want to see the fort!

It's about a 20 minute ride, but it a big ferry, go inside and you'll never see the water.
