This is an old church. The history is very interesting. George Washington actually worshiped there during his 2nd term. It's a unique interior layout. It's an active church yet remains untouched by time. The stained glass is spectacular. It's small so it doesn't take long. Right off Broad about half way between the market and battery, I absolutely recommend a... More

A great visit for all the family. It doesn't matter if you are religious or not, come see the old churches of Charleston and feel how it was to live in the not so distant past.

We lucked out when we met an off duty tour guide who gave us a private talk about this historical church. Interesting stories regarding steeple and famous people who attended this church. Quietly beautiful.

Part of my walking tour and the church is open to the public. So interesting to see where our ancestors worshiped. Had never seen private pew boxes before. Stained glass was also gorgeous. So glad we decided to walk inside.

The real draw here is the stained glass. Made by Tiffany. Just beautiful. A beautiful example of a southern church with the box pews.

On a walking tour, we had the privilege to go inside this beautiful Episcopal church. Of all the churches I have seen, it was not the largest or grandest, but it seemed to me to have the most character. The pews are sectioned off on the first level, and we saw the pew President Washington worshiped in when he was... More

Sunday services were in session when we came across this magnificent house of worship. We couldn't intrude but the engaging lead usher outside spent no end of time with us sharing about the grand old church, this wonderful city, and the fascinating history of the cemetery outside. Peaceful on a warm autumn morning, haunting and serene, this is a must... More

A lovely church with a place firmly planted in Charleston's history. Individual family pews downstairs.Balcony seats for the families house slaves upstairs. Check out the beautiful stain glass windows.

We stopped here during our trip and was only able to walk around. I thought it was odd that the Church was closed during our visit, but we managed to walk around. St Michael's Church is beautiful and you can see it while driving throughout the city. My family and I really wanted to walk around the cemetery, as we... More
