I don't know how long the glassed in section, run by the Preservation Society I believe, has been there, but I like it probably the best. Lots of lovely gifts and whenever I need to buy someone a gift, that is where I go.

The Confederate Museum is up the stairs. I enjoy learning about both sides that fought the Civil War. This museum has collections of Confederate flags, uniforms, sabers and clothing etc from the time. There is even research material if your ancestors fought for the South....More

Parking is available alongside the market, If you plan to park there I highly suggest you get there very early. Otherwise there is a parking garage located off King Street which isn't too far of a walk to city market. Plus... More

It's an open air market, but I don't recall seeing any and it's not listed as being dog friendly on the Bring Fido website.
