Visit was mostly for family activities, thus very limited "tourist" activities. Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit. Great food, lots of history to explore. A very busy Town, especially in spring and summer.

A historic stop that you won't get on most tours -- when school is in session it's even better (especially Friday afternoon when they have parade)

We stopped here with a tour group, and went inside the church and a guide told us about the Citadel's history. We were able to take pictures in the church and on the grounds. They also have a great bookstore to browse. I thought it...More

Being a military brat I can always enjoy visits to military sites and the history that goes with them. This was inspirational and quite a visit.

Our tour took us to the chapel at the Citadel. I was disturbed to see the Confederate battle flag on display among many other flags. This marred the experience.

I suggest calling the Citadel’s main switchboard 803-225-3294. They will get you to the correct office for the tour. I am positive there is not a fee.

Yes it is. Originally it wasn’t until the early 90s. When the first female was admitted to the college. (It didn’t go well for her) but eventually over the years, the Corps of Cadets percentage of women increased. I believe... More

Will definitely love parade that is mid afternoon on Friday....The campus is overall open as far as viewing and taking in. Specific requests and activities are on the website and they do respond to inquiries pretty quickly..
