This was an excellent tour back a couple of years ago, since then Jack Thomson had several health issues and has since passed away. I an not sure who is now doing these tours under his name but Jack was the one with all the...More

I got the chance to participate in this a year ago. Jack was super fun to be around, with unique tidbits that I had never heard about. Not a boring tour at all. Filled with history that was presented in a fun way!

Jack Thomson came well recommended and I was very excited to book the private tour for my mom and boyfriend's first visit to Charleston. We all love history, learning and walking so thought this would be perfect. Sadly, Jack didn't show up and instead Paul...More

Spent a good morning with Jack Thomson walking the streets of the historic district of Charleston. Very knowledgeable about Civil War history and Charleston, learned a lot in the 3 plus hours on the tour. If history is your thing, I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I took this tour on March 3, 2015, with Paul Hedden as our guide. Paul was terrific. Like us, he is a "Federal." Although my wife and I were the only ones on the tour Paul went all out. We learned a...More

Chilly morning with 8 other people. Tour guide (not Jack) did not seem well organized, overly wordy in some places, and breezed by what could have been interesting sites, read from 3x5 cards at times. Unique to this tour were some old photos taken from...More
