We stayed at the Spectator hotel and our butler Chuck recommended this tour. We were absolutely amazed by the way Martha introduced us to her city! All the history about it and all the beautiful places she took us. Will recommend this to everyone!

We enjoyed our stroll around the historic part of Charleston with this local, Martha Middleton.... she added a personal perspective and her knowledge and enthusiasm was even more than we had hoped for on our walking tour....

She greeted us with a warm smile, explained the history in flawless detail, was pleasant, and answered numerous questions during the tour with our group of 12. Other tour groups had...More

Enjoyed the stroll through side streets and alleyways. Got to see some beautiful old homes and peek in the courtyards. Would have liked a little less talking and more strolling.

On 9/21 my Mom, sister and I wound up getting a private tour with Martha, an unexpected bonus! We never would have discovered the various alleyways, gardens courtyards and neighborhoods we experienced without this tour. I had Bradley Wallace as the guide (the husband of one of the Middleton's). He was enthusiastic, answered everyone's questions, and was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He added personal anecdotes to the history which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this tour based...More

I took this tour a few weeks ago. The first mention of slavery was 55 minutes into the tour. I know because I looked at my watch, astounded that it had taken so long. Despite a sprawling, detailed history of Charleston's colonial founding, the economics...More

The Middleton Sisters really know their stuff! And learning about the history of Charleston on one of their walking tours shouldn't be missed when you are visiting the city.

Yeah, this might wear out a five-year-old. You walk slow and stand around a bit. After two hours, my kids were getting tired, and they are 10 and 13. if you are willing to leave after an hour or so, that could be a solution... More
