Join a 13th generation Middleton, for a personalized local perspective. End the tour in a private garden with refreshments. Walk with a local who grew up romping the streets of the downtown peninsula. The history of the city will come alive through the bricks and mortar still standing.

Our first trip to Charleston. Guide had a comprehensive knowledge of the city and its history. She clearly loved her city, and her tour was very informative and interesting. Would highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed our tour with Martha so much! Because she grew up in the area we are touring, and has an Anthropology degree, the amount of history, local knowledge and stories are awesome. The tour ends at her father’s home - which also has a...More

Was a great tour. Anne Middleton was a good tour guide with a broad expanse of knowledge of Charleston history. I learned things about the Revolutionary War I hadn't known. She did not shy away from controversial history either. She dealt with slavery openly and...More

Thank you. I'm so glad y'all enjoyed it. I can go on and on, it's true. I try to pull together the most interesting and thought provoking conversations from the vast amount of history about Charleston. Weaving it together, divulging it to the crowds is...More

My nephew and I, we’re very fortunate to have just the two of us, with Anne Middleton. Since I live only 2.5 hours South on Hilton Head, I have been to Charleston many times, but have never taken a walking tour. I conduct a historical...More

Effervescent and knowledgeable, Anne lead us down the streets and alleyways of Charleston with aplomb. At the end of two hours we had absorbed the city’s history from its beginning up until the present day. Anne unpacked the military and social aspects of Charleston life...More
