Join a 13th generation Middleton, for a personalized local perspective. End the tour in a private garden with refreshments. Walk with a local who grew up romping the streets of the downtown peninsula. The history of the city will come alive through the bricks and mortar still standing.

This was a fantastic tour - well timed, paced, and researched. Anne was a phenomenal guide and gave personality and personal history to add to the charm of the walk.

The Middleton sisters were recommended by our hotel and the tour was excellent. Great knowledge and enthusiasm. Helped us plan the rest of our stay in Charleston.

Martha was probably the most knowledgeable (and yet still accessible) tour guide that I have ever had. As an archaeologist who has excavated Charleston's streets and as a descendant of the city's first settlers, she was able to point out treasures and share information that went above and beyond anything a typical guide offers. Highly recommend!

We came to Charleston for a long weekend. I opted to do this tour first thing. I am SO glad we did. It became a great way to learn where things were, see places I probably never would have known about otherwise, and gave us a genuine view of the town from a native. Ann is not only born and... I have taken this walking tour with Ann so this time we went with Martha. Both women are extremely knowledgeable about their city. As 13th generation Charlestonians you can tell how much they love where they live and love sharing it with everyone. They also take you down some public alleyways that you would never find on your own. They... More

Martha (13th generation family) took us on a walking tour in the historic district of Charleston and we were very pleased with her knowledge. The tour took a little over two hours showing and explaining the history of the town. I highly recommend taking this tour the first day when visiting Charleston.

Anne led our tour and she did a great job. Clearly these Middleton sisters have a passion for the city and its history. The story of the development of Charleston below Broad Street really came to life for us and it was wonderful to see how the city responded to the various crises (both natural and man-made) that it has...
