Wonderful lighthouse many people have forgotten. Look up the history, amazing, right? The walk is a long one with nowhere to sit. Then the sand eeeeek.. do it anyway. Wow. The tide was out so it looked soooo obtainable, but don't be fooled.

Light house is a fun sight, BUT the real interest is the history of Morris Island. This is the site of one of the last battles of the civil war, fought after Lee surrendered. Yes the Civil war began and pretty much ended in Charleston....More

We were surprised to see this lighthouse completely surrounded by the ocean. It's completely inaccessible, but still pretty to see, all alone out there. Folly Beach, where this is located near, is one of our favorite attractions and we took a long walk to see...More

When this light house was built it was on solid ground. Now it's out in the ocean on a sand bar. It's a good day trip for a family and a piece of southern history.
