Upon arrival, we walked to the Visitor Centre and joined the 1.5 hour General History bus tour which covered various historic sites and buildings. It was a great introduction to the city. Afterwards, we walked around visiting the market, waterfront harbour and roamed over the old streets taking photos of the beautiful, colourful homes, most were built during the early... More

My husband and I spent several hours on 2 different days exploring the historic area of Charleston. It was our first visit and we are both very interested in architecture and history. I loved reading all the plaques to learn about the history of the homes. We fell in love with the houses, especially the great porches. There are so... More

We did this tour in march. Lots of walking and stairs, but worth it. We very much enjoyed learning of the history of the homes and seeing the wonderful architecture.

We completed the architecture tour on Saturday. Couldn't have been a better day. Houses were great and weather was great.

It is such a beautiful place with deep rooted culture! The homes are so well kept. You can tell the city and owners take pride in the district.

We explored Charleston's Historic District informally on our last morning in the city. When we reached Broad Street, we cut over to Meeting Street and began our tour with a visit to the church cemetery there. Then we walked south to the harbor, taking in the sight of all the extraordinary historic homes along the way. When we reached the... More

Description Charleston is known for its amazing architecture that blends an early American influence with more than a little English style. Many of these well-preserved homes date back to the mid-Eighteenth Century. As you leisurely stroll the 1.5 miles down Charleston's avenues, your guide will regale you with stories of the people and events that helped give these historic structures... More

I went with a dear friend to the Church Street Tour last October. It was a delightful day to tour the selected homes on Church Street. I believe we were able to tour 5 or 6 homes and the same amount of different gardens. One home stood out the most. The home of the author "Catch Me if you Can".... More
