My website is currently under modification.

Exploring Charleston is a fascinating adventure, and it would be my pleasure to guide you through the streets, uncover hidden alleyways, and explore some of the city's oldest sites. I am a graduate of the College of Charleston's History Department, and currently completing a Master’s Degree through Clemson University. While completing my Master’s Degree, I have done presentations and lectures on: Robert E. Lee in the Lowcountry, Story Telling History of Charleston, Colonial Charleston’s impact on The Civil War, and African American Relationships Pre and Post Bellum. For a short period of time, I was an American History Teacher in North Carolina. I have been leading tours around Charleston for nearly a decade. My passion for history stems from the fact that my family has resided in South Carolina, for nearly three hundred years. At the end of the day, the majestic architecture, culinary cuisine, and history of this unique city, at its roots, is the story of its people. Must call or email ahead, for reservations.

We visited Charleston in December with a few friends. As we have done twice before we booked a tour with Neal. His knowledge of Charleston and South Carolina in general is amazing. Along with all the historical facts and figures Neal is a great story teller. We highly recommend Neal's tours

On our first visit to Charleston we were fortunate to have Neal as our guide. We enjoyed it so much we've booked him for two subsequent visits and referred him to friends. Neal is personable and extremely knowledgeable. This is not a "canned" tour with a guide reciting a script. Highly recommended!

We did this tour with Neal recently. He is a wealth of knowledge about the city and characters in the city. He will cater the tour to your interests such as the civil war or architecture. We had a great time and thought he was very accommodating to our requests. Highly recommend.

We were fortunate enough to book a tour with Neal Cook through our stay at Elliott House Inn. He took us down streets and alleys not far from Queen St. all the way to the battery. We saw Charleston history & Civil War moments through his eyes and felt part of the past glorious history. There were seven of us... More
