This ended up being a private tour as there were not enough people signing up. Too bad it was a great tour. The guide went to all the spots involved in the secession of South Carolina and the war. He knew the Civil War History...More

Excellent tour. Weather was very pleasant and guide very knowledgeable. Many perspectives and seemed like some of his comments were directed at the Yankees that didn't really understand the war so well. No offense taken but found it interesting :)

This is a very good tour and it's free!! There is so much of our nation's history in South Carolina and this is a fun place to start. We enjoyed the walk and reading about each piece of America's History.

There were 4 of us and we all learned something new. Our guide was wonderful; spoke off the cuff, nothing scripted (or he was a great actor). You could tell he was passionate about the subject. The time flew by.

Really enjoyed the tour. Even I, a History major, learned a lot about Charleston's side of the Civil War. The guide brings along old pictures of different areas of Charleston, and it is really neat to compare then and now.

As a history major I wanted to absorb this tour, learn and interact. All was possible. I was lucky enough to get a solo tour and found Alan to be not only knowledgeable, but insightful and personable. No question was too mundane or elementary. Slow...More
