Went over this beautiful bridge today but I wasn't ready for the height. I am paralyzingly terrified of heights and I am glad I was not driving lol. I am not a native of SC and not used to driving over bridges this high in the sky. When I did peak it was a breathtaking view.

Impressive to drive over to be sure, but got our best shots of the bridge from the parking lot at the USS Yorktown.

Wonderful and efficient design of a bridge. Not just a highway connecting Charleston to Mt. Pleasant but also a fitness/recreational trail. Allowing pedestrians, joggers and bicyclists their own lanes of travel, to enjoy a safe way to exercise or take a leisurely stroll. Separated from the multiple lanes of traffic by cement barriers bicyclists and pedestrians each have designated lanes to avoid collisions. FYI...one way is 2 1/2 miles! Well worth a hike to see the stunning panoramic view of the area.

Glad I walked it once but the exhaust from cars is pretty bad for an ok view. The slight incline makes this a fairly easy walk even for people that do not workout a lot. You can also walk half the bridge and turn around if not interested in walking the whole thing before turning around at the end.

Love going over this bridge, beautiful bridge and can be seen from several locations in Charleston and from where we stay in Mount Pleasant. Took a Harbor Tour that went under this enormous bridge and learned about the cost and construction of this bridge!
