Biking and Beautiful Family Lake

To sit out in front of your camper any time of the day, you would never know you are in the middle of one of the largest cities in South Carolina. Shrubs separate most of the campsites and allow you total quiet and a peaceful enjoyment of the outdoors. Only occasionally would you hear traffic or the occasional siren. The... More

Can't say enough good things about this park! We have used campground many times, very accommodating, especially if you are getting in past hours. Sites are clean, very quiet. A little tight for slide outs, check before you show up. Kids of all ages will enjoy water park, playground and lake activities, as well as trails.

My wife and I did the biking travel (very easy to follow). It was an easy-moderate ride (only because of a lot of sand in some areas). This is only a good bike ride if you want to be isolated and enjoy the animal life. Didn't see a lot of animals besides butterflies and squirrels. I had no problem with... More

The park is very quiet with overnight sites in the woods. The facilities are nicely maintained and clean. The staff persons we met were very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend the park for day-trips or overnights.

It was a gorgeous spring day when my 1 year old grandson and I visited the park for the first time. This is a lovely gentle State Park with acres of land, many different types of trees and a wonderful lake you would not believe it could be so close to the city. Very peaceful with lots of seating areas... More

Nice, safe and clean place to walk in the woods. Easy walk and great place to walk your dog. Kudos to the city of Columbia for having this great park so close

I came here after reading positive reviews from my friends on it. First, paying what we did to get in was a bit steep ($5/person and $3/kid.) We paid and entered, parked and walked over to the store the have. It's very small but I wanted to collect my stamp for the SC parks program going on. We did the... More

This is a lovely park with a restful lake, playgrounds, trails and picnic area. It is unfortunate that is cost $5 per person. Repeated visits add up! I am of the opinion that parks should be by and large free for state residents. If you must charge, it should be nominal.

Just experienced my fifth visit to this majestic grave site. The gazebos where the last rites are held is covered, close to where you park the car and usually plenty of seating for family & friends.
