I've wanted to visit this place for years. We were the only ones on the property. The trails were self guided and well maintained, clearly marked with the names of trees and plants. It is a small area but sadly, you can never be free of the local traffic noise. It is nice to know this area will always be... More

The Newhall Audubon Nature Preserve was a nice and quiet sanctuary to take a long walk. We enjoyed that the plants/shrubs/trees were marked being from Kentucky we saw several plants that we have at home and others we did not. The day we were there the little pond was full of baby turtles and it was cute to watch them... More

Take a peaceful break from the crowds in Hilton Head with a walk through the Newhall Audubon Nature Preserve. Numerous trails and a large pond with benches. See hummingbirds, woodpeckers, turtles and alligators. Truly a hidden gem of nature. Located on Palmetto Bay Road between Point Comfort Rd & Publix. Look for a brown landmark sign on the right when... More

I took my son biking on some of the trails. Stopped of several times for photos. Make sure to ride slow so you can really soak up the beauty here. If you love nature this is definitely the place for you.

Stopped in only to check it out from the car. Natural park with trails. This would be a fun attraction in the off season when it is not so hot.

Tucked off Palmetto Road is a lovely secluded nature walk. All kinds of native plants are well marked for identification and birds chirping in the towering pines. Our group was lucky to have Jack, one of the caretakers, along for our morning walk. He was very knowledgeable about the history and plant life of the region. A nice walk through... More

Lovely nature preserve mid island offering a quiet respite from the more congested areas of HH. Worth an hour to stroll their paths and sit by the pond. No charge.

This is a compact little wooded area with a network of trails and a couple small ponds. The various types a trees and other plants growing here are labeled. It would be a good spot for a short secluded walk, but we found other forest preserves nearby that had more variety

We arrived later in the morning and didn't identify all that many birds but enjoyed our visit anyway. We were fortunate to be there the same time as a local volunteer who was very informative. I particularly liked the well labeled plants and trees.
