The grounds were gorgeous. Lots of photo opportunities and a great place to have a picnic. The gate/ticket office was slow so traffic getting in and out was a challenge. One way in and one way out. Traffic at times backed out into the main...More

As pointed out in the reviews below, the main house was built in the 1930’s and only included the downstairs section of 4 rooms. What was wonderful was the tour guide, John. He provided a fine history lesson of Charleston as well as the history...More

Too much hype- was actually disappointed. For 24 per ticket--not worth it. You get a house tour- House was beautiful and you can hear about slavery and see nine cabins but they advertise it like it was a scenic and breathtaking farm. No free tractor...More

This plantation has a plantation house, flower gardens, slave cabins, and a hayride. Although a house was on this site since 1681, this is the third house built here so it is not the original plantation house which was disappointing but the plantation itself is...More

My sister and I were having a great time touring the plantation until we took the 2:00 tour of the plantation house. The tour guide escorted the last few inside the door and then slammed it shut. As he did this, he bellowed “I’m tired...More

A great example of the old days. The main driveway is spectacular with the large oaks. Filming location of North & South. Grounds are extensive and well kept. Living history displays.

Lovely place, but not quite authentic and that only becomes clear once you take the tour. The current mansion was constructed in 1935, albeit of a lot of salvaged materials; the house is still technically a residence of the current owners and so only three...More

I looked back at my pictures and there are black chairs on each side of the house, but they really do not seem to be a problem in the pictures of the big house. They are there for the tours so people can sit and wait for the... More
